OpenText Content Manager 26.4 Release
Written by FYB Team

OpenText Content Manager 26.4 introduces new AI capabilities to help users find information, review document content and support records classification, alongside configurable controls for sensitive data in AI search queries.
Here are some of the key features and what they could mean for your organisation.
Find information through conversational search
The new Content Manager Agent (CMAgent) provides a conversational way to search for information using natural language.
In the Modern Web Client, users can select the Content Manager Agent icon to open an interactive search panel and describe what they are looking for.
This offers another way to find relevant information, helping users who may be less familiar with Content Manager’s search options.
CMAgent respects existing access permissions, helping users find information they are already authorised to access. It is a search-only assistant and does not make changes to Content Manager objects.
Help protect sensitive information in AI queries
Content Manager Agent supports configurable redaction to help protect sensitive information during natural language searches.
Administrators can define patterns to identify particular types of sensitive data, such as email addresses, mobile numbers and postcodes. Matching values are replaced with placeholders before queries are sent to the large language model.
This gives organisations greater control over the information included in AI search queries, with rules that can be tailored to their requirements.
Review document content faster with AI summaries
AI-powered record summarisation in the Modern Web Client helps users get an overview of indexed document content without opening the underlying documents.
Users can:
Generate a summary for an individual record.
Create a consolidated summary for up to 10 selected records.
Preview and copy the generated content.
These capabilities can help users assess which documents are relevant and gain an initial understanding of related information before reviewing the source material in detail.
Extend semantic auto-classification to Elasticsearch
Content Manager 26.4 adds semantic indexing support for Elasticsearch, expanding the options available for AI-assisted classification.
Organisations using Elasticsearch as their content index engine can now use indexed content for semantic category training and document classification through the Semantic Auto-Classification method.
This extends access to classification based on meaning and context, helping support more consistent organisation of information.
Planning your next Content Manager upgrade?
The new capabilities offer opportunities to simplify information discovery and review, while supporting classification and control over sensitive data in AI queries.
