OpenText Content Manager 26.2 is now available, introducing new AI-powered capabilities, a modernised Web Client, expanded Microsoft Teams integration and enhanced security controls.

AI-powered semantic search and classification
Content Manager 26.2 introduces a new semantic framework designed to improve how organisations find, understand and classify information.
New capabilities include:
- Semantic indexing
- AI-powered semantic search
- Auto-classification training
- Automated classification
By converting document content into vector embeddings, Content Manager can identify information based on meaning and context - not only exact keywords. This can help users find relevant content faster while supporting more consistent classification and records governance.
A modernised Web Client
The Content Manager Web Client has been refreshed to provide a cleaner and more intuitive user experience.
Enhancements include:
- A new vertical navigation panel
- An expandable and collapsible sidebar
- Better use of available screen space
- Improved navigation and usability
- Enhanced Properties and Action panels
These improvements are designed to make common information and records management tasks easier and more efficient.
Enhanced security and audit controls
Content Manager 26.2 includes several updates to strengthen information security, accountability and compliance.
These include:
- Document-level encryption
- Support for TLS 1.3
- Improved controls for changing the assignee of checked-out documents
- Additional audit logging for Print Report operations
- Enhanced audit and revision history for Manage In Place records
Expanded Microsoft Teams integration
The latest release builds on Content Manager’s integration with Microsoft Teams, helping users collaborate in familiar systems while maintaining appropriate information governance.
A new Finalized MIP Records tab provides direct access to approved and completed Manage In Place records from within Teams. Users can also view up to five additional metadata fields alongside each record for more context.
Other improvements include:
- Direct record finalisation from Teams
- Two-person chat capture
- Tenant-level Manage In Place configuration
- Improved audit and revision tracking
- Record type visibility controls
- Controlled exposure and revocation of records
- Improved timezone configuration
Improved mobile barcode support
The Content Manager Mobile App now supports Code 39 and Code 128 barcodes, helping users retrieve and manage physical records while working in the field.
Users can store up to 1,000 recently scanned records locally and complete bulk updates to assignees and home locations.
Search and records management improvements
A range of additional enhancements supports more efficient administration and information management, including:
- Searching for records by Retention Schedule Number
- Registration date filters for SQL Text Index reindexing
- Improved clean-up of completed workflow data
- Additional validation for inactive groups
- Stronger access control enforcement
Important upgrade considerations
Organisations using Content Manager’s SharePoint integration should carefully review the upgrade guidance. Following Microsoft’s retirement of Remote Event Receivers in SharePoint Online, customers may need to reapply Lifetime Management Policies and review changes to synchronisation and webhook-based processing.
Content Manager 26.2 also no longer supports Windows Server 2016. Annotation and Redaction functionality remains unsupported in the 32-bit version of Content Manager.
