General Disposal Schedule No. 30 Version 3 State Government Agencies in South Australia
Written by FYB Team

State Records of South Australia has just released a new General Disposal Schedule which applies to general administrative official records created and maintained by State Government agencies of South Australia.
GDS 30 applies to common records made or received by all State Government agencies in South Australia. The schedule does not apply to unique agency-specific records that document core agency functions. These records require coverage in an agency operational records disposal schedule (RDS). GDS 30 v2 is now null and void, cannot be used for sentencing, and is for reference purposes only.

Effective Date of GDS 30 V3: 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2036
The purpose of GDS 30 is to authorise the disposal of records including:
Identifying records of enduring evidential or informational value that cannot be destroyed and must be preserved for future reference as they hold value to the State as a permanent record.
Identifying records as temporary. These records are not considered to have continuing value to the agency or the State but must be retained for a minimum period. They can be destroyed after reaching this minimum period, and once any other disposal considerations have been taken into account.
