Mount Barker District Council Case Study

The FYB CM2Unity connector enables Councils to display documents from Micro Focus’ Content Manager to Unity.

Unity is a flexible platform provided by the Local Government Association of South Australia, that provides Councils with a hosted website system within a private cloud environment.

About the Council

Mount Barker District Council, characterized by picturesque countryside, bustling townships and sleepy hamlets. Situated in the Mount Lofty Ranges and only 30 minutes away from the capital of South Australia, Adelaide. Mount Barker District Council is one of the fastest growing councils in Australia offering outstanding lifestyle and business opportunities within a diverse and progressive community.

  • Documents were being double handled so that they could be made centrally available
  • There were limitations with the maximum file size when uploading documents directly to Unity
  • Old and out-dated documents were accessible even though there was a new version available

Using the FYB CM2Unity has provided the Council with the following benefits:

  • Increased flexibility for larger file sizes when uploading documents to Unity
  • Ability to control and delegate permissions for publishing, ensuring the Council is maintaining governance over its information
  • Streamlined the publication process of documents to Unity

Mount Barker District Council have been an FYB Support Member since 2014. The Council were seeking a tool to assist with the publication of documents from Content Manager to Unity and approached FYB to see if they could assist with providing a solution.

FYB developed CM2Unity working with the Local Government Association of South Australia and with input from local Council’s, including Mount Barker District Council.

“FYB are professional, responsive and were able to resolve issues quickly and efficiently”
